super six needs help

hi i just put a super 6 set up on my 74 duster with a sweet Holley 2bbl.......i welded up the egr port got rid of my vacuum amplifier and is runs great my only problem is my throttle cable is like 6"-8" to long......... i just wanted to see what other people have done before i start cuttn stuff up and make a fool of my self :) thank you for any help

I wish I could help you; but both my super sixes were already set up.

I did end up using a Lokar throttle cable on a 318 and it was an easy install. I had to use it because someone replaced the kickdown with a Lokar and the OEM throttle would not work easily.
 
Maybe try a throttle cable off a V8 car.
They are definitely shorter.
 
i got a throttle cable from an 85 grand fury with a 318 work'd great now onto the choke stove lol

remember a super six needs a specific choke different from the normal one. This is because the push rod will orient towards the front of the engine.

For your pre-'78 car, you need an ATP cable number Y-156. About $16 from rockauto.com . The '78-up cables have a square plastic end that goes into the firewall; your earlier car needs the round metal end.
