When I bought my Dart I was kind of happy it had the A body Mopar super stock leaf springs. Now that I have driven the car around town I must say they may be great for racing but they ride like driving an empty dump truck.

On my next project car a 65 Valiant I was going to use the Caltrac mono leaf with the Caltrac bars. I have never been in or driven a car with the Caltrac system. So my question is how is the ride? is it better, worse, or the same as the Mopar super stock springs?

I know what you mean about the empty dump truck, feels like a 1 ton with no load.

Been thinking about doing that some day also.

S/S springs don't rid all that bad. Can't see caltracs being any better. Put some XHD's springs on it if you cant handle a little ruffer than stock ride.

Better shocks will make the SS springs more compliant. I used a pair of Dakota truck shocks with the bushings modified to fit the Duster upper mounts and it rides pretty good. Firm, but not bouncy.
