Survivor car

absolutely beautiful just like that.. congrats and enjoy.....

DROOL!!
That is the color of my cousin’s 1970 Duster. It had a slant 6. I vowed to get me Duster when I grew old enough. He toasted the engine and parked it on the side of the house. A few years later I had enough money saved and went to my Aunt’s house to buy it. She said “I got tired of looking at that thing and I had it hauled off last week!.”

Nice and rare find, take your time and don't rush. This will be a nice project - congratulations.

Cheers,

Wolfgang

Awesome, I knew it was gonna clean up nice, that snowy on the front ain’t doin it no justice tho!

Call me crazy, but I love those little paint dings along the edge of the fender, that cars got a lot of character. I can see Hoss leaning over the fender, tweaking that engine to a 13 second time, and that big old Kiss belt buckle nickiing up the paint!

My brother found it and I waited 3 yrs for it
did you find a 24 hour midnight tire store to get some new rubber on those rallyes, get them painted up, have the new tires mounted, and get them on the car for us to see today? Asking for a friend!

Well as you found out survivor cars opinions are all over the place. Congratulations on a very nice find. There's no rush in deciding what the end results will be clean it up and go with the flow. you will get 10 different opinions from 10 different people if you want their opinion or not. From a person who is restoring a car very similar to yours in condition when I started they'll come a day when you'll want to bring it back to what it looked like new . I showed my car with the original paint and options for quite a long time only real modifications were to the rims tires and motor a lot of people loved it some people would ask when you going to paint that, when are you going to restore that. It's your car it's all what you want to do with it. Enjoy!

Gives us all hope that some day we will find a car like this. Im good the way it is paint wise.

I'm old enough to remember when you'd see RR or GTO with mags on the front and snow tires on black wheels on the back.
So True! When I bought my first '70 340 Swinger in 1972 it had snow tires with steelies on it. I went back to the seller a month later and paid $50 for the other two rallyes and polyglas tires!

Awesome find. Congrats. I found my 71 GSS Norms Demon the same way. In garage since 1984. I got it running, went thru the brakes and suspension and drive as is. As little as possible to make it go down the road.

Yes. I would repaint down the road. Unless you have the means to do it now while the engine is out. If you can do paint and body thats a huge plus. Its cool the way it is no doubt. It would have that barn fresh vibe goin. What is the back story?
