Good morning all, as the title says, I would like to do a swap from V belt to serpentine belt set up. It is a 360, in a Demon. Who has used what to complete this ( am sure someone offers a kit) and any advice on the install? Not using electric fans. No A/C. Just WP, PS and ALT.

I just got the stock serpentine brackets for mine when I did my 318 build.

Hmmmm, so you used the stock Magnum late style brackets bolted onto an earlier LA 318? Were you able to use the magnum pulleys on the early WP, PSP & ALT or did you have to swap those accessories out for newer parts?

Yup yup. You have to use a magnum timing cover and balancer.

OK install Magnum engine (a 5.9L Dakota or Durango should be right) TC (I was told that the Magnum TC doesn't allow clearance for the LA cam eccentric that drives the fuel pump-have to convert to elect pump?) and balancer.
Is that in addition to the Magnum style Alt, PSP and WP (I am told the Magnum pump runs in reverse to the LA pumps), or utilize Magnum pulleys and install on original OEM LA accessories?
Just wanna make sure I don't read anything into this that isn't there :)

Just swap in the whole magnum. it's worth it

That's correct. You have to use an electric pump.

Ok, I went back and read again what you're asking here.

In order for this to work, you are going to need to use Magnum heads. I thought that's what you were originally asking about, but when I went back and re-read it, I realized you are asking about the entire LA engine, heads and all. The bolt pattern from the LA heads to the Magnum heads is different. It requires the Magnum heads to work. Unless you swap to Magnum heads, you will need to go aftermarket.

Sorry I misread it. That was my fault.

OK, that does it..........I will have to do it the easy way. Throw $$$$$$ at Summit/Jegs/Ebay #-o

Thanks to all that commented on this!

Just curious Rob, what bolt pattern is different on magnum heads vs. LA heads? I know the intake is different but that shouldn't affect accessories. I have EQ heads that are magnum replacements and LA brackets bolted right up to them. Do they have something stock magnum heads don't have?
