Has anybody replaced the triangular rubber bushing on a 7/8" sway bar? Is there an easy way to install the rubber bushing in the bracket? Service manual not much help, says to replace the sway bar if rubber bushings need service.

Are you asking about a 72 and earlier A body sway bar?

The way i do it, is grind away the weld on one end of the bracket.
Pry back the bracket, insert the new bushing.
Use a "C" clamp, or the jaws of a vice, to squash them back together.
Reweld, and your done.
The only way that i know of, in trying to replace those bushings.
Same procedure for the 66-69 "B" body sway bar bushings.

Lube; 2 people, slick stuff; 2 people cussing; more slick stuff, hernias. Voila! That pos is on. Easier to do off the car, in a vise.

Doesn't welding the bracket back together melt the bushing? Is it the same bushing for the 70-72 A-body as for the 66-69 B bodies? I have seen websites that yes and no. Thanks for any info you might have.
