i know its not an a body but figured you all could help if you wanted:) i am working on getting a '68 dodge d100 /6 4 speed with granny low. it dosent run the best right now we think the slant is goin south. i will need it to good on the hiway so was thinking about puttin the 360 in it from the scamp while i do body work on it and put a different trany in it. also put power discs in the front and power steering. it already has the 8 3/4 in it and is pretty rust free. here are my questions

is the bell housing from a cummins the same as a small block? so i could get a 6 speed manual from a newer cummins and bolt it up to the 360 and drive it lol. if not i will look for a 5 speed from a newer ram that bolted to the small block already.

next is anyone have a disc brake set up for this? there is a pretty cool set up from scarebird that uses ford calipers and stuff so you can run discs up front. then i will also need a brake booster. along with power steering stuff like power steering box and hoses and possibly column?? what from the 75 scamp will be able to go on this truck other then the pump?

it has the solid front axel so maby if someone wants it(funnycar farmer?? lol) i could pull all that out and chop up some other car and put coils or something better for handeling on it. i know it would be a big project and i wouldnt need it at least for a while.

any other help would be appreciated. i am kinda broke but can get my motor in it for pennies and sell a different car and have some. but i need to do this as cheap as possible and meke it so i can cruise for at least 75-80 pretty easy. thanks

the 6 speed NV5600 from a cummins is no where close to the small block. If you were to do like I'm doing with my 70 crew cab and where to get a V10 Truck Magnum engine you could use the 6 speed.

The disc brake problem can be easily solved by using a volare clip(I believe it should fit) an FMJ front suspension is a popular swap to a simple independent front suspension system
