Tach dwell meter, how to hook up?

I have a tach dwell meter(don't remember brand)has 2 wires from it, one red one black. How do o hook it up to use it as a tach for cam break-in?

Black to engine ground.
Red to negitive side of coil.

NOT...............................NECESSARILY. Some are different. Some hook to plus and minus coil terminals.

WHAT brand and MODEL are we talkin' 'bout here? (as usual) LOL

Found one on ebay and was able to read the instructions on the back.
