Im running dual carb tunnel ram. Im in the middle of doing body work and dont have the engine for mock up. Anyone have a template for cutting the hood hole for clearance on a 72 Scamp or similar.

Two six inch holes, or cut out the middle triangle like I did. I imagine there are templates, but if you have your mounting location, you can easily see where to cut.

I would not depend on someone else's template. Your engine might "sit a little different."

Cardboard, maybe some scrap wood, just jig it up

I have a Dart Sport, but I'm sure the hoods are similar. I needed clearance to clear my carb and filter, and I always toyed around with velocity stackes, so I cut a larger opening than the two six inch holes. I didn't want to cut supports and weld in new ones, so I cut at the factory triangle. Here are some shots of what I did, and there is a ton of room.

The area cut out.
