Hi All.

More a early question of how do you figure out what stall speed to use rather than what one is best for my project as I wont be able to answer all things like cam selection with certainty at this time.

car weight 3235lb
diff ratio 2.92:1
engine specs including cam are uncertain at this point but assume roughly standard 340.

Is there some calculator or something to help?

Thanks

For racing you want a convertor that stalls at 500rpm above the rpm your engine makes peak torque.

One the street it's a compromise. Dynamic told me they like to set the stall at peak torque for street applications if possible.

I don't really know where the limit is for street driveability. i've run a true 3500 and a true 3900 stall convertor on the street with no issues and under normal driving you could not tell there was anythign other than a stock convertor in there.

With what you're looking at right now is just a stock converter. Don't waste your money buying a high stall until you've got everything figured out.

Give Gopnh.com a call, supurb quality OEM converters for decent prices. Don't go crappy/cheap here.
