Posted elsewhere, I know nothing about this. I heard it was an option in the "Chev 2"

I think somebody did something similar to this.

The only other engine I've ever seen in the Chevy II other than the small block and straight 6 was the 151 4 cylinder. But of course, never say never. lol
 

Yeah that was the forerunner to the 60 degree V6. The 2.8, 3.1 and 3.4.

Jeep had a mass produced V4 engine I think it was sometime in the 60s.
It's funny you mention that. The plan was (so I read) to base the V4 and the V6 off of the same block design. That way they could share some parts and be built on the same assembly line.
 
The chevy 4.3 was basically a 350 with two cylinders missing.

It was a good engine and used in thousands of chevy trucks and many many boats.

It is still popular today for jeep transplants as well as many other close quarters engine swaps.

Yes. Same pistons, rings, crank bearings, rods, timing set, water pump, pushrods, rockers, oil pump.....I'm sure I'm missing something. Much like the Chrysler 3.9.
