just want to see what you all think........just got a 76 440 and 727 trans... have 64 dart drag car the specs are...360 30 over xheads with 2,02,10.4 compression,284 484 mp cam, m1 intake,750 dp holley ,dougs headers ,msd dis,6al box...904 trans(64model) a@a man valve body bands and clutchs....dynamic 4200 convertor 410 8 3/4 rear with a sool ss springs and 8 10 bars ,26 by 10 slicks...run 12.3 all day car weighs 2800 all steel..............now heres what i was thinking ...put the 440 in the dart ....30 over,590 mp cam port and polish the heads with larger valves(the heads are 452),12.1 compression(i know i will have to do some milling) roller rockers, m1 intake 850 dp holley(i know to small 1050 or 950 but i have already) 2 1/4 headers(if anyone has a line on headers please send help) 4000+ convertor rebuild the 727 tran like i did the 904 + bolt in sprag .............what do you think.....mopar or no car....kenn
 
I think you should find a 65 only transmission... So it's cable operated but uses the later internal spines on the convertor and can run any cnvertor... Unless you were planningto stick a shifter in it.
 
thanks mopar...yes planing to run a shifter in it...the 904 in there now has the later reactor shaft set up and 65 cable console shifter....it will be going in my wifes 65 cuda.......she already got dibs on motor trans combo....happy wife happy life...........
