Hi,

Can someone tell me how I put the springs back to the bonnet Hinges from my '73 Scamp.
I removed them for sandblasting and painting. There is a lot of pressure on them I think, but maybe there is an easy trick for putting together.

Hi Edwin

I just slipped mine over the split shaft, pushed on the retainers
then wound them to add tension and slipped the curved end over
the other shaft.

The clamps on mine is for added insurance.

Mine are on my '67 'Cuda

And my most important question. How you wound them to add tension?
I think it must turn 270 degrees to get the right tension.

The spring should be under tension when the hinge is in the down position. When the hinge is up, it shouldn't be wound tight. Mine just popped back into place with a big screwdriver?
