Finally fired up the 408 tonight and it sounds mean! Break in went pretty well except for some oil leaks. Oil actually filled up the bolt passages on the valve covers and ran out the top. Sealed up the threads and it seems to be fine now. Also seem to have a leak at the back of the intake manifold :banghead:. I'm running a 3" X pipe and Dynomax VT mufflers. They only go to the axle right now but I will add tailpipes later. Links to the videos are at the bottom of the post. Enjoy!!

............Sweet...........looks great......sounds good, will give u more insentive to finish ur ride.........kim.....

Thats going to be a wild ride with 4spd and street tires.

Sounds good congrats!!

I had a set of those valve covers and mine leaked also. I found that the rails were not straight and Cork Gaskets fixed the problem "More squish" I guess.
Also the oil leak on the rear of the engine, check all the fittings where the oil pressure feed line goes real good, that may be the source of that one and not the intake.

I still have those tail pipes also.

heck yea man!!! sounds really really good!!

-whose x-pipe is that?

Thanks, I'm really happy with it. It's the universal one from summit. Did quite a bit of cutting to get it to fit so well but I think it turned out great.

I am still interested in the pipes but according to TTI I'll have to modify them to the outside of the frame rails because my springs are moved. I think my oil leaks were caused by the fact that my PCV valve wasn't hooked up and I didn't have a breather on the other valve cover. Probably had a lot of crankcase pressure.

Very nice-I had to do a double take on the cam-I'm guessing you mean 306 solid-either way, lots of chop-sounds intoxicating...beautiful car!

Nice! I was thinking about running the solid roller version of that cam a while back. Are you going to be taking it to the track soon?

Well, there's a lot of work left to do. Brakes, windows, interior.... Hopefully by the end of summer.
