We had primed the new 340 on the stand OK, but once in the car, we had to add a remote filter mount because of too tight a header clearance; even the 1348 mini-filter would not fit. So I wanted to re-prime the engine to clear the new remote filter lines and adapters of air. We had a different oil pressure gauge on the car and could get no pressure. Is it the line? The new gauge?

So after messing around, we backed off for the night. Thinking about it later, I realized I had mentally flipped the Canton block adapter over and had my son hook up the lines backwards. So as of this moment, the remote filter's anti-drain-back valve is actually acting as a 'forward-anti-flow valve'! I would not have caught this without the re-priming process; I was soooo sure we had it connected right. LOL... dodged another bullet!

Lesson: Re-checking never hurts, 'specially if you get odd results...... unless you have to blow the bridge in the face of the enemy!
