That an antenna built and erected in comfort and on a nice day cannot possibly work, and that the more miserable the weather is, the better the antenna is likely to work.

This one should be the best one I've ever built LMAO

This is the first time in my entire life, I've ever bought a wire antenna kit as such. I always used to roll my own, built "piecemeal" from parts, many times used parts.

But now, I find myself with ladder line which has deteriorated and needs replaced, and wire which is so chopped up that it's not really worth it.

So I bought an antenna kit from DX Engineering for 60 bucks, and it came this afternoon.

No idea where my 100 ft tape went, I had to measure it out 30 ft at a time

The old and the new. Old was wide spaced heavy gauge "ladder line." New is lightweight 300 ohm ladder / window line. Old insulator is obviously just a PVC tee
