Think it can be saved?

  • Yes its 8-1/4"
A few years back they were everywhere. A customer had three, scrapped them before i knew i needed diffs
Didnt realize until today, they were in aspens, dippys until 1989.
So now i will broaden my search.

Yes. I dont know if the later aspen / volare etc dif is the same width. I beilieve they were in Dakotas as well. Want me to look for an A body on here in BC?

Really all im after is axles, possibly 4 as i have 2 a bodies im in the process of gathering parts for.
Dutchman didnt show the dakota axles as being the same, as there are dozens of them around.

Regardless whether its a diff or axles, when it goes under the car it will be rebuilt drum to drum. Have friends and family in a few locations in bc too. Now that my sister is in gabriola, bc is now on my to do list.
Appreciate the help, but dont go out of your way.

Did the Dakotas use a "new" 7.25? who would have thought 8 1/4's would be hard to find..

The other option is the explorer 8.8. They are plentiful and cheap as borscht. They offer good gear ratios, limited slip units, disc brakes, 5 on 4.5 stud pattern.......
