This came on Facebook last night. 340 Demon for $1200

-
Due to the color combo and being a 340 car and all numbers matching it will be restored . It will not be stripped. I know where there is another 72 318 Demon sitting inside we will now go buy for all the sheet metal it needs. Both shops and the machine shop are now up and running. I am getting a little old but between friends and employees and my son. it will get done. Steve gave strict orders . I better not sell a dam thing its getting restored.

Pulled the data plate info.

Very cool, Steve. I'm glad to read that.

I paid Brad's NOS $600 for a set of 72 white buckets like that with tracks...skin on mine wasn't as good as yours..Thanks to @j_anderson they look new again but black

lower stripe goes above the body line in the rear and the bottom of the top stripe goes on the body line in the front.

Looked briefly yesterday and didn't even see that. Really confirms the stripe remnant positions in the fuel tank hole, and both front and rear door edges on mine. Doesn't actually follow the body line.

I just think the red with the white guts and the white striping with fresh air Hood is too cool for a demon !! You could really turn a buck with this car....And that's hard to do in 2025

Almost 25 years ago I missed out on one that was almost exactly like this car, except it had a fold back sun roof! It was a FE5 red, white stripes, 340 auto., dual snorkle scoop, white bucket seat interior. Sadly it was parted and sent to the crusher.

Are you sure they crushed it. Not many were made . And did you all know that top insert was the same as the VW Beetle where I had gathered the parts and and crank for an EV2 car in the past. I believe the company was Britex. They reproduce them today and can easily be installed on a 72 with the one piece headliner If you want the look.

Note the stripe installed incorrect. the wheel lip trim goes over the stripe. All that money just to ruin the project with lack of research
Yes, it was parted and crushed. It would have looked exactly like this car. I was able to buy the complete dash, rear seat, console, and Rallye wheels from it.

Thank You to the OP.
You had the honesty and decency to not only share this experience BUT to also state what the price was.
THAT is how it should be.
It sucks when dudes get all excited to post about some score they made then they clam up when someone asks what the price was.
To me, that is just bragging about what you have done while helping nobody but yourself.

Holy Sh***!!! . I've never seen a wreck as bad as that last one. I wonder if the lone guy survived... If he did, I'll bet he regretted riding with that driver his whole life...

Great find. It doesn't really look all that bad for sitting outside for 35 years.

Like everyone else, WOW. What a find. Great to see its in such good hands.. Can’t wait to see the ongoing build project take shape. Congrats

That would’ve been a $12-$15,000 car in my area. Most people ask insane prices for stuff around here. You definitely have to act fast on something like that.

Great score on the Demon! Good luck with the project! BTW.... reading that newspaper article about the '68 Road Runner car crash... the driver, died ( Roger Hassick) Tony...survived with...two broken legs, a fractured foot, broken ribs, and most likely internal injury's to his organs.
Sounds like Roger was trying to impress his passengers, by speeding, lost control of the Road Runner, and hitting a utility pole, and then dragged the pole, before smashing head on into that tree. Whoever was in the front passenger side of the seat, obviously got the worst of the impact...poor kids.

Nice score! Can’t beat that price!!!
