Looks like the spring I think the clip i a horshoe style if I remember correctly. Either way you best fix asap.

Goes on your gas pedal. No idea what it does ! Always wondered... some executive probably had a brother that manufactured them .

I believe it's a anti rattle clip, just holds pressure on the gas pedal pivot.
