I was turning the Dart back to the upright position
When all of a sudden the handle just spun:eek:ops:

NOW WHAT

the car is on the down side and wont move

Even since the car is balanced
I DON't Dare remove the worm gear

luckily got the car low enough to get it outside

(never thought I would say this)>>>ford to the rescue :D

took the slack out of the chain
then was able to remove the worm gear and finish rotating the car
the handle is real thin where the split pin for the worm gear goes in the handle

Yea, I was concerned the gear letting loose and the car spin to fast
Turn everything over

$6.40 and we are spinning again----2 drill bits and 2 new split pins
1 piece of scrap 1/2" round stock

used the 2nd drill bit to position the first drill hole, to make sure the pins would be in proper alignment

extended the length of the shaft, made a emergency release (lug nut welded on to the shaft, to be able to, use a socket on it to bring the car back, to a safe position)

back to work- installing sliders on the leaf springs

no chrome handle,,but it works.

that's what ya get for havin the fancy tools!!! LOL

I don't consider it Fancy
There's no electric motor or remote control :D

After all those years
of laying on my back
trying to remove under coating,
jumping to avoid weld slag,

It is time to do the work the easier way

was easier to lay out the frame ties,
move the leaf springs in and forward,
built new spring boxes,
add sliders
finish the insides of the wheel tubs

and i hate over head welding

plus when i'm finished with the rotisserie
can sell it, get most of my money back....
