Thoughts and prayers needed.

My sister was in a terrible car crash today. She was driving my brother's S10 pick up, ended up rolling 3-4 times. Life lined to the hospital, several broken bones but she is alive and alert. Was wearing a seat belt but was still ejected. Truck landed on top of her. Just needing some extra prayers tonight. Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone. This is by far the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life. I just wish we knew what caused the crash. So far, police aren't saying.

Sorry to hear about this. The police are more then likely still investigating the accident so they can't say much. From the way the accident sounded though you are very lucky you didn't get a much different phone call. Someone was looking over her that is for sure! Prayers sent.

For sure we are very lucky. Theres something about that stretch of the interstate, 15 people so far in 2014 have been killed in that very 3 mile stretch. It's a narrow part of 65, lanes barely contain semi width vehicles. its pretty straight through there too. So I'm not sure what causes all these accidents in that area but they need to find out before anyone else gets injured or killed.
 
Doing better. She's awake and alert. They just removed her breathing tube and she's talking to us. Remembers nothing from the accident. Which was expected and probably a good thing. Still a long long way to go. She's got a broken ankle, a broken fibula, a destroyed left knee, broken collar bone, fractured ribs, bruised lungs and spleen and a gash about her eye.

Awesome that she is talking to you and doing better! Long road ahead but, it sounds like nothing that time will not heal!!!
The gash about the eye has not affected her vision has it?

A little, her vision is blurred but some of that is due to the facial swelling. I drove by the junkyard where the truck is, its right behind a chain link gate, it's destroyed. Had she not be ejected, she'd not be with us right now. Doctors think she thrown out the left side of the truck based on how her collar bones and bruises are. We think the drivers door popped open and momentum slung her out. The cab in crushed completely flat with whats left of the hood. The whole front end is pushed in and towards the drivers side of the truck.
