Throttle cable/gas pedal issues - holley on a 318

There is a great thread on FBBO about fixing the pedal inside. Also after 50 or more years u don’t think the pedal may have bent some fatigue. Kim
 
No... Correct fix is to scrap the Holley 1850. Never did have much luck with them vs a Carter 4 bbl except for feeding the Engine more gas than it needed/no matter what I did with an 1850/ except to pull the 1850 and sell it....

Agreed! Holleys make great boat anchors. When Edel tested a 600 Holley v a 625 AFB on a 350 Chebby, the Carter made 17 hp more, 17 ft/lbs more..........& used less fuel doing it. This was BEFORE Edel started making the AFBs, & a little known fact, Edel was selling Holley carbs under an Edel part #!

However, in fairness the problem the OP is having could happen with any brand of carb.
