Hello,
After cracking a block we replaced our 225 slant six with a newer 225 slant six. It bolted in great, but the oil pan touches the tie rod that passes under it. Is there a newer tie rod I can get that drops down a little more than the one on a 66 Valiant?

Thanks, Chuck

Im not sure about the tie rod but is it a different pan configuration? can you put your other pan on it?

I assume you mean the center link that is supported by the idler arm and drag link on the steering box that the tie rods attach to.

The V-8 center link is 1" lower on the '64-'66 a bodies and will give you the clearance you need.

Be sure your engine rubber mounts are new and not collapsed .

Yes, the motor mounts are brand new. We came up with a completely rebuilt 225 from the 80's to replace the original. The oil pan, though shaped the same apparently has a slightly lower back section. It rubs the top of the center link. Anyone have a v-8 center link from a 64-66 valiant for sale.
