This low mileage Complete 1969 440 and 727 transmission out of a Chrysler New Yorker popped up over the weekend and me and my brother drive about 5 hours to snag it and bring her back to her new home!

I'm going to be starting to compile a parts list and such to do a bit of a refresh on the motor complete with aluminum heads, intake, water pump housing ext. to put this big boy on a diet and ill also be doing cam, gaskets, seals ext.

Not gonna get too crazy with it, but it should definitely have more *** than my 360 Does :D :D :D

Very nice find!

That c body pan will work in an A body also. Just make sure you add some baffles to it.

All the parts you will not be using you can sell here. Get some cash back ! Nice score.

Thats the plan! Ill have a pretty nice complete totally refreshed and upgraded 360 that would make most drivers happy along with a lot of chrome bling. :D but it will probably be NEXT winter before i can make the actual swap. Moneys a but tight and i want to really take my time do all my research and do everything right the first time so indont have to go back later to change things.

The "baffle" is called a windage tray. Those RB engines produce a lot of torque in stock trim. You don't need to go crazy with the cam for a nice running street engine. Should be a nice project!
OH OK. Yeah id never heard it called a baffle before, my bad.

And yeah, Im not gonna do much to it, just all the aluminum stuff to get the weight down and preserve some handling, and a Mild Cam.

The 69 chrysler version of the 440 were rated at around 350 HP and and 480 lbs of torque. Id like to crack just a smidge over the line of 400/500.

that's entirely doable with steel heads if you don't wanna splash the cash for the alum. units.

that being said, modern alum heads, intake and a reasonable cam will do that number easy money.

The baffles front and rear keep oil in the sump so the pickup doesn´t become uncovered. Any performance engine should have these IMO. More important than a windage tray to me.

yeah, im mostly after the aluminum ones for weight reduction off the nose and of course, the more Important Bling factor

I've also read that aluminum heads help with knock/pinging issues related to pump gas.

losing some weight off the front end is always a good idea.

knock/ping issues always come down to the tune. you can run quite a bit of compression with iron heads, but the tune has to be on point. aluminum is much more forgiving.

Congrats that's a good deal. It has more A$$ than a 360 right now! 350 horses and 480 lbs of torque.

A 1969 std 440 has a 187 pan, no baffles no windage tray. I used that pan in a 14.0 car and had zero oil pressure after the 1-2 shift every run.

1969 New Yorker had a one piece kickdown, it doesn't fit too well on smaller cars, no firewall room.

thats a bummer, i was hoping the kickdown would work, i hate those trash lokar cables.

Run a wanted ad for a 3 piece kickdown on FCBO or FBBO.

A guy just posted an ad for a bunch of kickdown on FBBO yesterday

I put a windage tray on my 383 and lost oil pressure at high rpms.
We don't need no stinking baffles!

Or something like that, not sure where it's from but my father used to say it.

Don't forget the tunnel ram.

He actually doesn't say it!
Like a "Luke, I am your father!"
