So the timing chain cover seal for the harmonic damper shaft is leaking oil. I have managed to pull the damper and wonder if I can now just pull the seal out from the timing chain cover front without pulling the cover? I do not remember if this seal was installed from the backside does anyone know?
Do I need to pull the waterpump as well as the timing chain cover and maybe drop the oil pan? The engine is a 1997/360. It is hard to tell by looking at it as the motor is in the car.
Thank you for your reply.

U r in luck with a 1970+ cover-can change from front with no cover pulling. see cover and seals at rockauto. here is a 1969 and older - remove cover - seal goes in from inside-it can't fall out
