I have been trying to get to this for a while now but between working on the car and fighting with Photobucket I just haven't gotten to it. Anyway here is the first installment, the before and hopefully the after. Comments welcome...:cheers::cheers:
looks like you have a solid car to start with. i look forward to seeing the progress. remember take lots of pictures. we like pictures here. good luck!
Thanks guys, I got lucky and found a real solid Arizona car (I found it in Wisconsin) the only rust is the two front floor pans and a golfball size hole on the right rear quarter. All the rust was caused by the windshield and rear window leaking. The wheels are Billet specialties Apex G, I love the matt grey centers. Right now I am in the process of mini-tubbing it, so I can tuck the 18 x 10 rears. One tub is done, and I should have the other done this weekend. I have some more pic's I'll try to post tonight.
good stuff man! Dont 4 get 2 check your cowl vents. All the dirt/ leaves get stuck up in there and rot it out. keep it comin dude.
Mini-tubbing 101. Here are a couple of shots of the rear tubs, tires fit great now. I'm running 285-40-18's
Oh man, that is going to be so nice. Please keep us up to date with your motor installation, very interesting. What trans are you putting in?
Nice find!Looks similar to my 66,s condition, but mines a post.I,ve done lots of work in the past 5 months(6 to 8)conversion,discs,8 3/4s.g,mosers,14&15,s.If you have any ??,s shoot me a PM,I,d be glad to help with any question. Before and after pics.Is that Hemi gonna fit??LOL!Nice!
The b and e body cars really dont have a problem with the car 5.7 or 6.1 hemi, it's that the ruck combo was way cheaper when I bought so like any good prblem solver, I solved my dilema and haven't look back. By the way, you had me foole with the rear tires and jack, but you do have big ol' balls for doing the mini tub, I'm jealous and envious.
Thanks PBD, I'm sure I will have some questions along the way. I almost bought a 66, but it too was a post car, I just prefer the look of the hardtop. One way or another the Hemi is going to fit.
Doing the mini tub is not that hard, it is just very time consuming. If you can drop that hemi in and get it running, there is no reason you couldn't tub it. Plus tubbing dosen't cost much, just lots of welding wire and gas.
