So really considering converting to the TKX 5 speed from 904 in my 67 Barracuda. Right now my car is on a rotisserie, and I am a long ways from being ready for it. For those that have done this, how much easier would it be to do the floor modifications while its still on the rotisserie? Or can that even be done without the Trans for test fitting? I don't have a lift. I don't want to buy the kit yet because the warranty would be out before I ever got it in the car. Thanks!

Butte MT is at 5538 ft above sealevel.
Unless you are planning a BB, or supercharging, that's gunna seriously affect your engine's ability to make low-rpm torque.
Which is gunna seriously affect your choice of ways of multiplying whatever torque the engine actually produces, to make it an enjoyable combo.
I'm gonna guess that you have given it some thought already?

If you bump your Cylinder Pressure up, in compensation, to run at that higher elevation, you may not be able to drive it down on the plains without detonation.

Jus saying.

It would definitely be easier. Especially when it comes to cutting the cross member and making it look nice but it's not crazy difficult to do off your back either. I threw mine away but I'm sure shift SST or someone here could send you the template for cutting the cross member and you could do it while it's still up on the rotisserie.

You just need to make damn sure you are going to go with the TKX at that point. We all know how often plans change when it comes to this hobby. I'd hate to cut the cross member up only to have to change plans afterward and then deal with piecing that back together.

Anyone happen to still have the template? SST won't provide me with just the template, they say I have to buy the kit to get it.

Dead Dodge Garage on YouTube did a TKX swap in a Dart sport. That should give ya some insight on what needs to be cut. He ended up cutting more than he anticipated but still a good watch. There’s a playlist on his channel of the car.. he did quite a bit of work on it. 408/TKX swap, Dana 60 rear, all new front in parts and so on…
