Tone/Reluctor ring

Would it throw off the balance if I took off around .060-.100 of the flex plate ring? It bottoms out against the PTC convertor before the mounting lugs do. When I tighten it up you can see the flex plate "bend" until the bolts bottom out.

You're good.
As log as material is taken uniformly from the diameter as a whole, it wont effect the balance.

What engine is it for? A 5.2 is internally balanced, but a 5.9 has weight added to the flex plate. Could you not just Super Glue washers that are thick enough to prevent the bind to the torque converter lugs?

It is for a 5.9. The washers could be an option. Going to see if my friend with a Bridgeport machine could take some off first.

My friend was able to get it done. Hopefully it works and won't give me any issues down the road.
