Top Fender turn signals conversion

It is possible to put top fender turn signals on a dart duster or any 70-76 abody that didn't have em.where would the wiring tie into on harness ,to make them work? Has anyone done the conversion before?

The leed should already be in the headlight harness. Your turns will just plug into them.

I have a 65 Dart which never ever came with fender mounted turn signals. I added 66 Barracuda “shark tooth” fender turn signals. Although I have a custom engine compartment harness, it was quite easy to add the wire from the stock turn signals to the fender units

There are 2 types of fender top turn signals 70-72 and 73-76. Old ones have no exposed screw in the top, later ones have a screw - the hole for newer ones is larger than the older ones - both styles are reproduced and available. The two have the same connection so you can easily use either. Be sure to clean out the connector half that has been hanging out under your car for 50 years...

I find that odd, my '69 Dart has the leeds in the headlight harness. My '69 Road Runner has the leeds in its harness too. Neither has fender turns.

Would you like a video following the wiring from the bulkhead connector to the core support where it terminates? They're not there.

I've have found over the decades that for some reason it seems to be hit or miss with the F/T signal pigtails. For A, B and E bodies. I've added them to cars that had the pigtails and it was a plug and play deal.

So what follows is pics of a 1970 Dart. The side marker lights are different so don't let that throw you. There is a wrapped piece of the harness that departs the light harness in front of the radiator support and goes down behind and below the headlight bucket:

inside the front fender that wrap ends in a 2 wire plug to the side marker light and a single wire bullet connector for the fender top signal light:

If you look between the wires above you can see the bottom of the fender top signal light coming through the fender. here it is again:

Here is a better close up of the 70-72 fender top light:

I hope that this helps you. Since the wires to the side marker and fender top are wrapped there is no way to trace the origin except the diagram on the Factory Service Manual. Good Luck!

Nope. Mine must be an odd duck in that department. My fender marker light harnesses look nothing like that and terminate at a connector near the top of the core support behind the headlights

I know the lead on the fender mounted turn signal is not that long and as you could see from my marker light wiring, there is no provision for that bullet connector
