Ok, let me set this up... baring some stupid thing I did..
74 Dart with automatic..Ok that is what this section is about.
about 2 years ago, about 3\4 miles from my house, the timing gear took a vacation.
I got a tow home and started taking about the front end.. I new that it was the time
gear because when I rolled it over, the rotor did not move..
Well one thing and another I got side tracked and I had another car to drive .
But I decided to get the 74 back running and finally got it back together, but
while it was running I moved the shift lever between park\reverse\forwar but the
car did not budge. No feeling of the trans shifting...
I was under the car and it seemed like the linkage was good..
Anyone have an idea a can work off of?
Yes it has fluid to the correct level..
Thanks..

if it has been sitting for "awhile"....torqueflites have a thing called converter drainback....after a couple days the fluid in the converter will drain back into pan....put it in neutral and let it idle for a minute then see if you got any movement......just a guess...

IC, well thanks for that.. once I get
the exhaust on the car, I'll take your advise
and let it idle for some time..
Best, and thanks again
