FABO Family,
I have a 65 commando 273 and a 904 with a mild shift kit. I was wondering if my stock torque converter was adequate or should I go with a new one. If new, what brands are good and still affordable and someone please explain the stall speed and how to know what you need.
:help:Thanks, David

you should be fine with your stock conv. the stall speed is the rpm the converter hooks up. it depends upon engine and cam torque range . a big hi lift long duration cam needs a hi stall torque converter.

there is a 4 page article in last issue of Mopar Enthusiast that covers exactly what you are looking for.

is it a 65 trans in the car? if so they have a different spline count then the newer ones i believe and the converter choices are limited and expensive for them.

1967 and earlier 904's had the different spline count, and they have a smaller pilot hub too.
