Hi all. I am just wondering (I have heard it is possible on other transmissions) if the existing rear housing bush can be pushed further inwards and the new bush can be inserted so the tail shaft yoke has double the length of bush it can run on. Also my tail shaft yoke has a diameter of 1.56". Is this an early or late transmission.

No. There is a tool that will pull the old bushing out and then a driver to install the new one. Also check the front slip yoke. It has a plug in it's rear that can leak.

Ok thanks for the info. I will check if it needs replacing but the seal Will be replaced.

Do you have the tool to remove the existing bushing and install new one without removing the tail shaft housing?

I replaced the bushing and seal on mine this past Spring and you won’t be able to get two bushings in there end to end.

Thanks for the confirmation. Unfortunately I don't have the removal tool. And I don't know where to get it here in OZ.
