I hate to ask a dumb question but how dow I raise the front of my 68 cuda by adjusting the torsion bars. My exhaust is way to low with the flaming river rack and the oil pan is scary low too. So it has to be raised.
Also while Im asking questions...I have a holley electric fuel pump on the frame rail at the tank area, but it's terribly loud and annoying. Can I just put a stock mechanical pump back on the engine, I dont understand if I have to have an electric one. The engine is a 340 mild build. As far as the torsion bar adjustment goes..a pic or two of the process would be great I'm not sure where or how to adjust them.
Thanks guys....Roy

It should be fine with a mechanical pump. What I would try first though is to put a piece of rubber between the pump and frame rail, it may help tone down the noise.

I will let the more learned explain the torsion bar adjustment. I haven't really messed with them a whole lot. You will need to raise the tires off the ground when you do it, and get an alignment when you are done.

Look for a bolt on the bottom of your lower control arms. Use an air impact or 1/2 rachet to tighten them clockwise to raise the car. It makes it easier if you jack up the front of the car. Put it back on the ground and bounce on the front bumper a couple of times. Your fuel pump is probably loud because they did not run a return line back to the tank. You could have some run a return line from the regulator back to the tank or put a mechanical pump back in it.

The adjustment bolt points nearly straight down near the torsion bar socket. You will need a 3/4" socket. It is best to adjust the LCA with the weight taken off the bars. Get it close and do final adjustments with the weight on the ground and the front end settled. When you raise and lower the car you will find that it initially sits higher without doing anything. That is because as the front end comes down on the hanging suspension it will not go to ride height without jouncing, rolling, of using alignment plates.

Jack it too high- handling problems. Search adjustment height, seems like 1 7/8" . Holley Blue- went through 2 in 1 week. No more Holley.
