tranny mount: same from 904 to 727?

Hey there guys and gals, i had been told by someone that my 904 tranny mount that is used on my /6 tranny will work with my sb 904 that i will be putting in because the only difference between the two is the belhousing. Now my question is will that 904 mount that i have now work for a sb 727 transmission. I'm just thinking about what tranny i'm gonna use 727 or 904 and want to see what options i have. Thanks for your help!!

Yes. 727 is longer and you will need a shorter driveshaft with a corresponding 727 trans yoke and matching u-joint at the other end. But the mounting location is the same on the transmissions.

While its apart, make sure the rubber trans mount is in good shape. Poly mounts are very nice, durable options.

ok great that's kind of what i was hopeing to hear. thanks for the rest of the info but everything will be upgraded from the tranny back anyways to an 8 3/4 etc. Again thanks for the info. as long as either will fit that's great. I've been thinking about which one to use because i have both a 904 and 727 but the 904 needs a full on rebuilt and the 727 just needs to be refreshed so to say but like i said i want to be able to keep my options open.
