My Duster runs a mild 318, with a 904 running a modified stock converter, modified to roughly 2500 rpm stall speed, stock size pan. The 8 ¼ rear runs a 3.92 Spicer LSD setup. Max RPM on highway is about 3450 at 65mph occasionally on 255/60/15 rear tires. No auxillary trans cooler has ever been on this car. Should one be used?

I use one on my 'Cuda. I have a 2800-3200 converter and a 3.55:1 gear.

At 70 I'm a little over 3000 rpm. My tranny temp is always 190 or below. Mostly
it runs 150-170 degrees. I only use the external and not the one in the radiator.

Adding a small cooler in front of the radiator is simple and inexpensive. I would and run both.

Tony, what size and style is the cooler? I'm going with an automatic trans now and I already had the radiator without the cooler in it. I want to just run the external myself as well.
