trans identification

I have a trans that everyone keeps telling me its a 727 the only numbers i could find were (pk4028406-5806-0678) any help would be highly appreciated

What does the pan look like, is is semi square or does it have one corner that dog legs out a little..

Do you have a picture of the pan or the entire tranny?

The tranny is from a 76/77 318/360.The 5806 is the build date,according to the 10,000 day calendar,and the 067 means that your tranny was the 67 tranny built that day,mrmopartech

so is it a 727 or 904 and it has a little kick on the pan it isnt square

the kick out will be under where the dipstick tube goes into the case.

Well from another post or is there another same type thread going on this is a 727, the other guys says it was a big block.. sorry I am confused.. All small blocks can have a 727 or a 904 most are 904 except HD apps and trucks.

Even taxi cab /6s have 727s on most. Yes those numbers are corect as per
mrmopartech!
