I'm in the middle of a high performance 727 build. While reassembling the pump, I noticed a small chip on one of the teeth. Is something this small worth replacing the gears over, or am I worrying over nothing? Other than the chip, clearances were spot on. Thanks guys!

Do you know how the chip happened?
If you do use it I would file it smooth to reduse any stress.

A little fluid will be allowed to get past that under pressure, and also loose a touch of suction pulling fluid up, but probably won't make any noticeable difference.
Still, I would have to replace that.

That's nothing . Nay;less than nothing
That pump puts out it's maximum regulated pressure of over 275psi ..... into reverse.
In all forward gears it is regulated to less than 100psi. The rest is dumped back into the pan
