Hey gang I am going to be adding a shift kit to my 727 and my tranny guy says he can get Transco -2 HD kit out of Toronto for $137 delivered.. Im not familiar with this product...
I am familiar with TF-2 Transgo kits and they are have the price in the USA..

Does any one here know the product Transco -2 HD ?

I think somebody mispronounced/misspelled the name.
Everthing I see on the net where someone mentioned Transco, they were corrected (TransGo)

..............Transco was the little shift improver kit from the late 70s and early 80s........kim.......

I did see something about that manufacturer buried in some really old stuff on the net.
Apparently it was a spring kit only?
Even in that information they were corrected, so I kinda just passed it over.

Looks like it was my buds lingo that was off.. he is has been around for ages doing transmissions and said transco like the old days but he referenced to my summit link and said thats the one.. so im ordering it today lol... way cheaper

That's the kit you want. Might not be cheaper though by the time you pay the broker fees. I believe Summit will only ship UPS. Could be wrong though. If they will ship USPS that would save you some $$.

Did Napa sell them? I remember using a couple kits from NAPA about 30 yrs. ago that were real basic kits. If I remember right they had the plate you screw down onto the valve body like a TransGo kit and maybe a spring or 2 to change. Not much to them but they did firm up the shifts quite a bit.

Sure sounds like the ones,I sold at Napa 10-12 years ago. Worked good, for the price.

Transgo & Transco come from the same company. Gil Younger is the man behind the company and was one of the main men in the development of shift improver/valve body kits. His knowledge of the hydraulics in a transmission and how the damn things work are unreal, and a lot of other kits makers just follow what he discovered years ago. To get his kits to work properly they destroy many transmissions until they get the kit to work right.
One kit(the SK-TF) is what in the industry we call a builders kit (small) the other is the big kit used for HD / performance situations. If you're doing this your self and have limited knowledge on transmissions go with the TF-2 Kit. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. I've seen a lot of valve bodies screwed up and become junk because the installer doesn't follow the instructions or has someone who thinks he's an expert(doesn't work in the transmission industry however) tell him to do things that are all wrong. Unless your helper is a transmission builder be aware of his LACK of knowledge on how a transmission works.
By the way, my 727 has the small kit in it, installed by a transmission builder that understands how they work. With a 245hp smogger engine, it'll bark the tires under WOT going in to 3rd gear, yet under normal driving conditions you never really know a shift kit was in it. When you order your kit, make sure you order the TF-2 kit, not the TFOD-HD2 kit, as the TFOD-HD 2KIT is for the Overdrive series of transmissions.

just so you know...I think Summit look after all duty and brokerage fees now for Canadian purchasers.
..all we pay now is the order price and their normal shipping charge....order away!

I think you just pay Summit the fees at time of order, instead of UPS at your door,,,nobody gets out of paying their fees! Thats why I try and not use them.

...i have discussed this with summit sales staff...
On my last order,i paid the catalog price and just their regular shipping.
you should check with them at the time of your order.

Really??...I stand corrected. After so many years of being abused by UPS/FedEx etc, I was skeptical. I'll check it out Thanks.
