I just acquired a Dart that has a trunk full of parts for a v8 upgrade. It has a radiator marked 1970 340 which is great but has two nipples installed where the transmission lines go to the radiator. What I'm wondering was this done at the factory and is this from a standard trans car or did someone do it before and there is a tranny cooler in the rad.

OEM radiators for automatic trans builds included a trans oil cooler.

i guarantee you the factory did not do it. standard tranny cars had there own rad with no cooler or nipples installed .

should have been from a auto 340 car
they have a tranny cooler build into the radiator

now, if someone could tell me which lines to order to go with that (360/727) that would be great, I contacted the right stuff but they weren't very helpful

I imagine 70 Dart 340/727 would be the same even with a 360.

They didn't use nipples from the factory. The radiator had 1/8" pipe threads that a 1/8" NPT to #5 AN adapter screwed into and the cooler lines screwed onto the adapter
