My flexplate instructions say to check the alignment between crank and trans shaft. I have a professionally rebuilt '68 383 and a ProTrans 727 TF. Any suggestions or cool tool recommendations to measure this in the tight space? Thanks.
I was thinking that was only for a manual when you true up a bell housing, never heard of needing to do it on a auto before.
Yes sir. That's how it's done. But I must say, in all my years of doing this, I have never once worried about it or had a problem with it.
I did my quick time and found that its about .010 out, i ground the powder coating of the mating surface and the paint off the block and it got it about .006. they say it needs to be .005 or less runout but i figured I was close enough. I guess we will see.
