Ive decided to redo the trunk in my 70 duster. its currently rust free and clean, but not exactly nice. just painted metal, with a battery, speaker, and MSD box.

eres what i want to do:
add sound deadener. i think a lot of the road noise and exhaust noise is due to there not being any insulation back there.
my options as i see them:
1. roll on bed liner. What brand? will it be a worthwhile sound deadener?
2. dynamat. i have a few sheets left over from the interior. i think it will be enough, but cant se how well that would work on the tailight panel, quarters, or anything else in there but the floor, for that matter.

i also want to add some finishing in there. i was thinking of making some carpeted closeout panels like the streetrod guys do. use some 1/8 inch luan, covered in carpet. use 1/4 for the floor for durability. line the ack of the boards with foil backed jute for more insulation from sound and heat.

i then found some pictures of a 74 duster with the fold down rear seat. it was close to what i was thinking, but not quite.

what I'm asking for is a few things:
1. what sound deadener for the metal?
2. how to attach the luan panels to the bodywork/trunk area.
3. pictures of other dusters with a well done trunk.
4. how to do the panel for the tailight area.
5. any other suggestions of how to do it.

thanks
michael
