Hey everyone! I'm starting to get things together for some summer projects on my '66 Barracuda -S. I would really love to find some NICE condition or NOS front grills. My center section is in nice shape but the grills on the side, around the headlights, are getting a little ugly. I heard its really expensive to get the pot metal rechromed but have any of you guys tried it? It would make the front of my car so much nicer, they're starting to get yellowed and the chrome is all spider webbed. I was even considering trying some of the chrome paint with my airbrush. I ran into a guy this summer that found NOS ones but he couldn't remember where he got them.

Another part I was keeping my eyes out for are the chrome tail light housings. I think laysons sells the whole set of plastic lenses but my housings are a little ehhh. Thank god most of the trim on the car is stainless!!!

One last thing, does anyone know the paint code for the dark blue interior? Its a very deep blue with a little metallic in it. I wanted to re-paint the metal interior trim/panels.

Thanks everyone and good luck with your winter projects!

Good luck finding NOS grilles, that guy who found 2 should have bought a lottery ticket! I have 1 NOS one I scored cheap on ebay but it is for my dads Barracuda, holding out for the other side yet. Good used ones are tough to find too, I see them on ebay, been some nice ones lately but they are spendy. You will probably have to spend some $$$ and get them replated. Same case with the tail lights. My dad scored a NOS pair with lenses at a swap meet but that was 25 years ago. Nice used ones are the way to go, then get them replated. I parted out a blue 66 Barracuda 5 years ago and kept the fender tag, it was a Formula S car with the the dark blue interior, I will check the tag to see if it has the code.
