Ultrasonic addiction, cannot stop.

Here's some more pics of some carb parts before re-assembly. About an hour in tap water removed the varnish and oil from the crevices.

I've had no problem with my Harbor Freight model. It's the smaller of the two they sell. I think it was $25? They put both of them on sale frequently.
I use a mix of vinegar and Simple Green, or whatever cleaner. I use it for small engine carbs that get gunked up with bad gas.
For what it's worth, I've heard you can literally boil carbs on the stove. Baking soda and water, I believe. I've used that in my ultrasonic cleaner, too.
 
We have a high end one at work for our guns... Wish I could get results like you did with that carb. They insist on using this special solution that the cleaner manufacturer sells. It builds up a waxy foam on top of the water and it gets all over whatever you just cleaned. Ive stopped using it due to this. Any insight as to what causes this buildup?
