undercoating over self etching primer?

Hey All,

I am installing a 4 speed hump in my Val. It has been primed with self etching primer. Once she is welded in and touched up can I put undercoating straight over the primer, or do I really need to rattle can some paint on the primer first?

light scuff of the cured etch then undercoat...u can paint the undercoat after its dry if u desire...

I applied Herculiner (2 coats) right over rustoleum primer and it turned out real nice. A quick scuff as Doug mentioned and have not had any problems with adhesion.

Most of the primer had been on for several years, and some was only a week old.
