I'm taking my 915 J heads apart to clean (and inspect) as part of repairing the spun #8 rod.

The exhaust valves have "Ferrea F51151", the intakes have "Ferrea F51150" on them. All markings are near the tip. So far, I only have 8 out, but I've had them all out before, and the other 8 will be the same. I'm not the original builder, and have no history on it.

When I Google the name and numbers, nothing comes up. I would think that even if Ferrea changed their product line/part numbers, something would show up, somewhere.

I don't need any specific info, but I just wanted to find out about them.

They're 2.02/1.60's. The stems are all between .3711 and .3714. They're just a bit longer than 5". (About .070" longer, I don't have a good way to measure exactly.)

Anyone familiar?

Im guessing f5151 and f5150 valves in their catalog.
Chrysler 340 & w2.
3/8, 1.60, 5.075
3/8, 2.02, 5.05

here’s another perspective……… does it really matter?

They’re Ferrea 5000’s…….and the heads are set up for them already.
Just keep using them.

I just think they’re “misnumbered”.
There’s an extra 1 in the number.

Another possibility I can imagine is……..
The extra 1 indicates the valves were finished in the states from semi-finished blanks, and that’s how they identify that.

Just guesses on my parts.

Just to follow up on this...

No. it doesn't really matter what they are, and there's always some part(s) that no one can identify. But, it woulda been nice to know.

Zeke, from Ferrea, replied to my email and said they have nothing with those numbers in their system, which dates back to 1995.

He provided the numbers that cookietruck provided, and the sizes match. I guess they're stainless steel, but as I said to Zeke, they've been in a running engine, and I was just curious as to what they are.

They made longer versions .
+.100, +.200.

5000 series are over priced for what they are and heavy imo, id rather run another brand.

Last time I bought Ferrea they were made in Argentina...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with valves made in Argentina.

That's where the majority of US owned valve companies get there better quality valves from today.

All of the SI Portflow valves I have sold for over 20 years came from there and I've never had one customer that experienced any issues with them including

the ones that I've personally used over the last 20 year period. Now valves made in China forget it.
