The whole fron K-frame is from CAP who was recently aquired by QA1. There's a lot of bad press out there about this stuff, but so far so good from what I've seen!

Should be lots of fun when your done.

Thanks for the kudos guys! I'll get some pics of the K-frame later in the week when I finish working all this overtime to pay for it!

It's been a while and a lot has happened since I started this thread. Most notably the birth of my son, so this project has taken a bit of a back seat. Well, we've been plugging away recently and are on track to have her under power in a few weeks. Of course, I said that a few weeks ago, but you know how it goes. Lol! Anyway, here's a few pics I snapped while the car was on the ground. I probably should've taken some of the underside while it was up, but I guess that'll be another day.

What lb spring are you running on the front, they look pretty big.

Honestly, I can't remember. I probably should try and dig up the paper work. I know they weren't the lightest offering due to the extra weight of the big block, but what the actual rating is escapes me.

And thanks to everyone else for the props!

Since I can see they are QA1's you can just look on the spring it has the lbs on them.

I took a quick look today and it looks like they're 400 or 450# springs. One is turned so I can't see it and the other has a scuff over the number. Definately starts with a "4" though!

A little more progress wiring and what not.

Still plugging away. Figured I'd post a few of the whole car. It didn't have a front bumper when I got it and the back one was in real bad shape. Considering that I'm missing most of the trim anyway and not wanting to spend 600 bucks on replacement bumpers, I bought some good cores and had them powder coated silver. I think they look pretty good!

Thanks Mopar65! It's been a long road, but there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I pieced the 4L80 swap together myself. I bought the adapter bell, flexplate and starter spacer from Quick Time Performance who Lakewood now owns. Chris at CK Performance Racing Transmissions is a good friend of mine, he built the 4L80 with a full manual forward pattern valvebody, all billet internals, a transbrake, cut off the factory bell and installed the adapter. I had a custom billet multi-disc lock-up converter built by Joe at Pro-Torque and the guys over at Speedway Performance (Long Island) modified the floor, floor bracing and fabbed the crossmember. When I started this project there was no "kit" available and even if there was, I'm not sure I would've gone that route anyway. I certainly wouldn't pay the kind of money they're looking to get for it!

More progress. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, but I dropped and broke my trusty old Canon Powershot!
