Updates on Bruce

-
I just had a long talk with Bruce. He's home and he sounds good. Was in a lot of pain from his back but it's under control now. He's been in the hospital much of the past month, hasn't felt up to checking in on FABO but will do so soon. Still needs our prayers and any financial support we are willing to give.

It was good talking to you Bruce!

Have you talked to Bruce, any updates on how he is doing.

Thanks
Kenny

I just spoke briefly with Bruce's ex Melanie who is his caregiver. He went in the hospital yesterday with severe back pain. They are doing tests to see if something is causing his back to bother him so much. She also said his chemo has been going well and they will find out soon what effect the chemo has had on his cancer. He doesnt have his phone at the moment but she is bringing it to him. She said she will update us and thanks to all for the concern and prayers.

Thanks for the update. I hope things turn around for him. He has the power of FABO behind him.

Melanie called me tonight and asked me to please update this thread. I don't want to. But she asked me to, so here it comes. The doctors found out why Bruce's back was hurting. He has cancer in his spine now. I have purposely waited until I knew something more concrete to update.

About a week ago, Bruce called to tell me his updated prognosis. That the doctor had changed his outlook to less than one year. I did not say anything at that time, because I was not asked to. Melanie says now with this latest discovery, that prognosis will probably be shortened significantly. She said the doctors are not giving any more chemotherapy and that hospice is being called in. So, there it is.

Any of you who call Bruce might want to consider doing so. Melanie said it would certainly lift his spirits. Kitty and I plan to go visit him in the hopsital this coming week. Please continue to pray.

Well, I made a mistake once before on an update, because Melanie was so upset that she told me wrong. Completely understandable......but unfortunately, I think she got it right this time. But we can certainly keep prayin.

Very sorry to hear that, but thanks for the update.
We had my mother in Hospice care for the last month before she died, and they did a fantastic job of easing her discomfort up until her death.
Prayers offered for Bruce & Melanie.

Spoke to Bruce today, still in the hospital but in good spirits as he always is when we talk. Don't be afraid to call him. Don't be a stranger on FABO Bruce, you're always welcome here!:coffee2:

Melanie told Kitty (Mrs. StrokerScamp) that Bruce has several vertabrae that are colapsed or fractured as a result of the cancer in his spine. She also said that there have been five tumors discovered in Bruce's brain as well. I don't really know what else to say here. I have way much experience with cancer, as it took both my parents, several family members and more than one friend. Painful to say the least. Kitty and I are going to see him tomorrow evening. Please continue your prayers.

Now it seems they are gonna treat Bruce's back with radiation. Evidently, they think there is some headway to be made there. Let's pray that there is. Kitty and I were not able to go Monday, because she found out that she has a big test to take at work Thursday. She has to study for it every night. So we'll be going either Thursday or Friday. Keep yall posted.

Well, believe it or not, Bruce got to go home today. I talked to Melanie and they were outside shovin him up and down the walk in his wheelchair. Gettin some sunshine and bein home will do him some good.

Wow. I took a little break from the forum and came back to see all of this. I've really been hoping Bruce would catch a break in his battle against his cancer...

Glad to hear he's back at home though, always better to be home than hanging out in the hospital.

Rob...any way you can get over there and take a few measurements and some pic's i need a height from the ground to figure how long the ramp will need to be and keep your eye out for some block to put posts onto.......Thank's...........Wagg's
