The other thread has me curious, are there any headlight upgrade kits for 1991-1993 headlights? These are the rectangle headlights that, I believe, are used for decades on Dodge pickups. If I'm not mistaken, the Toyota Landcruisers also used these headlights, if they happen to make a kit.
All info is appreciated.

There is a mountain of variety for a 6054 lamp replacement but most of it is junk. Some of them are no better than a hand full of led flash lights in a 6054 housing.

A well made housing with DOT or left hand drive country E code reflector, glass lens and a H4 bulb socket would be a good upgrade (with a bulb you can select, led not so much). Hella makes oem quality lights. Imho, a projector lens with a servo door that blocks some of the light for low beam to prevent blinding other drivers would be ideal but nobody makes a bolt-in for a 6054.

On ebay, there are some reasonably low cost housings that look similar to original 6054 lights, have a glass lens, and use a bulb socket. DOT or left hand drive country E code marked is promising but likely china bs. Let me know if you want a link to some of the ones that look decent.

Led is a huge subject and you've got an expert on here already (no doubt chiming in soon). A few years ago, I experimented with many different design leds (all reasonably low cost) and not found any that will work as well as a bulb (for output versus glare) in a housing designed for a bulb, even when adjusting the clocking of the led in the housing.

A couple years ago Stern had Bosch H4 lamp housings for the 6054. I'm pretty happy with them, but I think he has something else now for that standard. I used the same "Rangepower +" bulbs as were in the Cibies (cracked one lens) because I have them.

I have not yet put a relay kit onto the Jeep. It has a traditional wiring scheme but with heavier wiring than the typical A-body Chrysler. The 86-91 Jeep has a newer scheme that IMO really needs a headlight relay. Where this is going is, its possible your Ram may already have better power distribution to the headlights?

I like your idea of investigating whether any Landcruisers came with 6054s and what Toyota is doing about replacement lamps.
