I recently picked up a 4779 750 Double Pumper in great running condition on craigslist for $50. I am planing on doing some upgrades. I included my engine specs at the bottom:

I plan on adding the Proform main body part 67100C.

Then I am going to add the billet metering block kit from quick fuel. There are two 34-4 and 34-105. I am not sure what the difference is or which one I should get.

Lastly I am trying to decide if I should get a billet base plate. What are the advantages of doing so. I figure the main body and the billet metering block would probably get me the most bang for my buck but I know nothing about carbs.

My questions:
1. Any advice on the billet metering block kit, 34-105 or 34-4? I plan on calling quick fuel and asking.
2. What are the advantages of adding a billet base plate, and will those advantages be noticeable.

Here is what I have:
1971 Duster.
X heads
Compression ratio somewhere between 9-10:1
Torque Converter: 2500-3000 stall (or more, I have not purchased yet)
Headers Dougs
340 bored over 30.
904 Auto Transmission.
RPM Air Gap Intake.
3.55 Gears now, hope to change to 3.91.
Cam: Dur @ .050” Lift: 223°/234° RR: 1.5/1.5 Gross Lift: .480”/.494” LSA: 112° RPM: 2000 to 4800 Redline: 5300

Thanks guys!

once you have upgraded the main body... meter blocks...and base plate.....all you bought were the bowls...LOL

34-105 is front and back meter blocks..a kit
34-4 is one meter block

if your base plate is worn out ...throttle shafts lose...then the new billet base plate is nice...plus i think the throttle blades are probably thinner on the billet one to "increase" flow.
