Upper balljoint failure. Pin spins in ball?

Anyone ever see a failure like this? The pin spins in the UBJ ball. There is slop in the joint so it has completely failed but I was surprised to see the pin and ball separate like that.

Iv'e seen that before on my S800. separate ball and pin is to lessen the drag of the joint for lighter steering.. probably find the cheaper joints are one piece

It’s common. Time for a new one.

Yep, working on installing a set of SPC 1.0 UCA's.

Wasn't sure that I would put them on this car as I bought them more due to being discontinued. But when I found the bad balljoint figured I might as well bite the bullet and use them.
