I recently placed a $500 order at Jegs and when I went to check out it was $48 in tax. I called them and they said Court ruled for online to collect tax. I then went to Summit and no tax so they got my order. I also placed an order for $11 in New Jersey and when I got bill $1.51 for tax. I called co. and response was New York charges tax for shipping. I figured tax to be about .90 not 1.51. So maybe our online shopping will come to a halt with all these additional taxes.
 
The days of tax free online shopping are quickly coming to an end. In Pennsylvania I hear Jegs is collecting but Summit isn’t yet. By law we are supposed to pay taxes to our state. Sooner or later if we don’t I figure they will come after us. I think the courts ruled on this earlier this year. I know personally that not paying tax on online purchases has hurt local businesses
